Has anyone else participated in the Markstrat simulation? Any tips or advice?

Oh, yeah, Markstrat. I do that all the time. Sometimes two, three marks at a time. It's really fun, when, uh...that guy does that thing.

...

...totally.

[Confused]

I prefer doing three strats at a time, myself. But it is cool when the guy does the thing. Even more cool is when the guy does both things simultaneously!!

It's a marketing simulation used in many MBA programs, where you develop and market products in a simulated market scenario (competing against other teams for grades). It's rather complicated and involves great amounts of marketing data that needs to be analyzed (supposedly similar to the types and amount of data that a Proctor & Gambler marketing manager would receive).

If I was thrown into a marketing position in the real world, I'd ask a mentor for strategy (altogether knowing, as well, that someone might mislead me to teach me another type of lesson). I just hoped that maybe someone in here had been there.

It seems like it's going to be a lot of fun.

It sounds fun. But I'm having to resist mightily the temptation to make a dobie entitled "Muskrat Stimulation".

The only thing I hate more than spam, is reconstituted ala the dark arts spam.
