I just recently got back into playing chess again after several years. I'd never done the correspondence chess thing before, but I'm loving it now, especially with the Chess.com iPhone app.

I'm by no means an expert. I'd say I'm more or less an average amateur, but I've already noticed an improvement just over the past few days. I guess playing 10 games at once with the freedom to take pretty much as much time as I need per move has something to do with that. I'm learning new openings, pawn structuring, short- and long-term strategies, and I'm doing my best to improve my general tactical skills throughout the game.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in playing, feel free to add me as a friend on chess.com and issue me a challenge. I could also use any advice or tips if anyone has them to offer, so feel free to go over and critique my current and finished games.

Have you read any books, and are you interested in reading some? If not/so, I would be happy to recommend some appropriate for your level.

I have not. I'm interested, so recommend away, but it may be some time before I get around to it. I've got too much on my plate bookwise at the moment to take on anything else for awhile.
