As I've gotten up into the full figured end of the spectrum, I've had a harder and harder time finding pants that fit. When I had to find something to wear to a wedding this summer, I broke down and went to Lane Bryant. They had just what I wanted, it fit perfectly, and it was on sale.

So as the weather got cooler, I realized I needed new work pants. I went back to Lane Bryant and found they've got something new called the Right Fit collection. Basically, they researched how women are actually built and cut their pants that way. Crazy, right?

The second pair of pants I tried fit perfectly. And I mean perfect. There's no gapping in the waist, there's no needing to let them sit low on the hips to stay put, and there's no worrying the top button's going to pop. I went Red because I like a loose leg, but the gal thought I could probably wear Yellow for a more slim leg line. I rarely get options like that in other stores.

So instead of going to twelve stores, trying on a hundred pants and finding a size 16 or 18 that sort of fits, I'm happy to say that I'm a 1 Red on the second try. [Smile]

Yay for finding pants that fit! I think for most women finding pants that actually fit is in the realm of fantasy, so this is a really cool thing. I haven't yet broken down and tried their right fit stuff but I am curious about it. I do wonder if, since I'm not built the way most women are built, they'd work for me, but it's worth a try. That's great! I love it when businesses produce a supply to fill an often-unmet demand. That's pretty cool.

I'm not a huge fan of their stores (or their pants, but that's a religious thing), but I love their catalog.

I shopped there a couple of times when I hit size 18. In a way, it was nice, because I was the thinnest woman in the store. Also, their clothes were loose and comfortable. But I don't think I ever quite got over the stigma.

Of course, if I don't get my butt off the couch and lay off the dessert I may have to shop there again one of these days....

Still riding that roller coaster. I got down to size 8 a few years ago. That was nice. Not an 8 anymore. [Frown]

Buying clothes is a pain. I'm glad you found a store you like.

The lane bryant pants leave a little to be desired. My wife shops there and while the pants do fit well almost everywhere there is a lot of extra room hanging down in the crotch much like you would see with men's pants. it is quite a shame really.

I might also add that in recent years I have discovered that pants that fit well are preferable to pants that fit loosely. That is a hard thing to find, but I've managed. I don't know what size they go up to, but I love the Jag jeans I'm wearing now -- I only wish I'd bout 3 more pairs of these instead of buying 2 other brands at the same time. Honestly, you can't tell in the store. You have to wear your jeans around for a while to really get their measure.
