Obama should be offering McCain Secretary of State any time now.

Well, he's already made Josh Lyman Chief of Staff. [Smile]

Naw, Josh Lymon would have been Axelrod or Plouffe from the campaign. Or for that matter, choosing Howard Dean or Tom Dashcle to run his transition team (both current or former Chairmans of the DNC)

I think the West Wing references might start to peter out now that the campaign is over. But I still think that was damned spooky that there are so many easy comparisons in a race that was unlike any other in our history.

Actually, Josh was based, at least in part, on Rahm.

I'm bummed that they didn't do the no-moderator debate.

They did a much more free wheeling debate in the first debate than anything I've ever seen. I'd call that progress.

Where did you hear that Josh was based on Rahm?

In darn near every news article talking about Emmanuel's selection as chief of staff.
quote:
The inspiration for The West Wing’s fictional deputy chief-of-staff, Josh Lyman, the most unlikely moments in the character’s story are plucked straight out of Mr Emmanuel’s reality.
When Lyman reads a Washington Post profile of him which tells how he sent a congressman a rotting fish in the post, he asks his assistant, Donna, if she was the source.
In fact, it was Mr Emmanuel – who reportedly once sent a pollster he had fallen out with the same gift – as a warning never to cross him again.
