Remember "Chocky"? It was a late 60s SF novel by John Wyndham that became the subject of a bizarre British TV mini-series. Nickelodeon seemed to show is every Saturday, back in the 80s. Though it was obviously made on a budget of about...oh...thirteen cents, it was full of potent nightmare fuel.

The basic premise is a boy has an "imaginary friend"...one that he starts arguing quite severely with, that turns out to be an alien intelligence.

According to Variety, Spielberg has an eye towards directing this. It certainly seems to be right where he lives.

With The Adventures of Tin Tin experiencing some funding hiccups or rather coughing fits, it might very well be suspended or canned making this Spielberg's next project.

Is he actually working on his movie about Lincoln with Liam Neeson?
