This brings up two questions:

1. I know Depp has some Native American heritage, but why not cast him as the Lone Ranger?

2. Who will be playing the masked man?

3. They must be planning for Tonto to steal the show, right?

Does Depp actually have any Native American Blood? I mean I see not having The Rock play Tonto, but someone like Val Kilmer would seem much more appropriate IMO.

Hmmm... apparently he is 1/4 native american

Surely that is the idea - his secret identity must be preserved!

I hope it's Randy Quaid. I smell buddy comedy!

How come I can just picture his first line.

Tonto: Ugh!

Lone Ranger: What?

Tonto: Sorry, indigetsion. I have got to stop eating at that Mexican ride through place in town. I was saying, if you expect me to ride into town so I could get beat up and you save the day, well my friend, you are in for big dissapointments.

Is no one else slightly... what, annoyed with Depp? The "I'm quirky, I'm original," stink of Tim Burton just doesn't seem to be coming off.

It was Sweeny Todd that pissed me off the most. It was just, a mix of boring and pointless, with a little bit of too-cool. Tim Burton might be original if all of his movies weren't about the same thing, and it would if I could figure out what that thing was.

I could never be annoyed with Johnny Depp.

Unless he was tormenting rabbits and saying mean things about Dir en grey.

What if he beat some children and ate some bunnies?

You want us to blame Depp for Burton's sins?

*shakes fist* Beast!

Anyway, The Lone Ranger isn't Depp's next Burton project. That would be the stop-motion Alice in Wonderland.

The sins of the father...

Nobody forced Depp to do movie after movie with Tim Burton. They're no DiCaprio and Scorcese,

I respectfully disagree.

According to Depp it was Burton on the set of Edward Scissorhands who convcined him to march to his own beat. I'd say generally speaking that philosophy has put Depp in good stead. Folks may tire of Depp and Burton doing so many movies together that have some similarities, but if the men enjoy working together that's probably all that matters to them.

As director and actor, if they can get the funding they have no obligation to ke tou to movie goers.

If one wishes to see Depp not playing dark, strange characters, go rent Finding Neverland. It was a very enjoyable movie.

That would be rather mean. Children and bunnies are so cute and awesome.
