Which should surprise no one. I'm certain the 158 million dollar opening weekend is already old news at Warner Bros.

*crossing fingers* Batman and Superman, Batman and Superman! I know, that isn't going to happen with the next movie. But, I want it and so does a lot of people. It even shows up as a billboard in I Am Legend. My only problem, and one I think is keeping it from getting made, is who would the villian(s) be to get the two together?

The only way I want to see Batman and Superman in the same movie is if it's an adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns.

Duh.
"This is the Mayor of Gotham. Is this Lois Lane? Yeah? Great. We have a problem here with some vigilante's. Seems some guy in a suit is going around beating up people, and others are following his example. The whole place is about to go up in a civil war of street violence, and the police can't cope. Put this in your paper babe--Gotham needs Superman. I figure he can catch this clown in a couple of hours."

I want a Justice League movie way, way more than I want an Avengers movie -- and that's coming from a guy who prefers Marvel to DC.

A slight digression.
I've been reading the "Red Hood" collections from the recent Batman storyline, and I've got to say that the "Batman's failure to kill the psychopathic killers he encounters means that an increasing number of good people are being killed and maimed while those killers keep getting returned to the streets" subtext is getting very, very tiresome.
The Black Mask/Hush/Red Hood story lines have done something I never would have thought possible: they make Frank freaking Miller's vision of Gotham City seem positively cheerful by comparison. At least Miller seems to accept that the good guys can make a difference. The nihilism of recent Batman storylines is exasperating.

The bat-books have undergone a regime and writer change in the few years since those books were written. Things have improved greatly.

I'm glad to hear it. The way things were going, I was waiting for Batman to take up crystal meth to keep up with his late-night hours, or Alfred to suffer a stroke, or something.
