I don't pretend to be talented but sometimes an idea invokes such powerful emotions only verse can satisfy the compulsion to express them.

An Ode To The Day Job:

I can't express my constant disdain
Nor avoid this silent dulling pain
The constant clicking of electric mouses
Drowns my envy of the rich in their houses

The tapping of keys on boards unstopping
Like a million clocks all ticking and tocking
I'm want to self induce an epileptic fit
But that's not a standard worker benefit

With food in a global crisis and gasoline high
Of course a big wage hike is verily nigh
Or would be if this world was close to fair
But wages are turtles and bills are hares

And so we slave and all for peanuts
Perfectly content to live as wingnuts
Alas I must go now my boss is lurking
She doesn't know yet that I'm not working.

Turning misery into comedy gold, that subsequentially can be converted into cash and then real gold. I can dig this.

Lovely.
I am lucky to adore my day job, so my ode would be much different.
