No film will ever capture the magical movie C.S. Lewis put into my head, back when I was seven.

That said, if the new adaptation of Prince Caspian gets anything right, it's Eddie Izzard's performance as Reepicheep. Suddenly all the affection I felt for the character as a kid came rushing back...and judging by the reactions of the audience, he was an all-around crowd favorite.

I have mixed feelings regarding the rest of the film, but every moment with the valiant mouse is pure gold. I'm now looking forward to Dawn Treader with increased enthusiasm. [Smile]

Did they even say his name in the movie? My mom pointed out that she was waiting to hear his name and it never came, and I can't recall any moment that contradicts that.

Yes, Reepicheep was awesome. He saved the movie.

They said Reepicheep's name a few times. The first time is right after he K.O.s Caspian. Trufflehunter calls out his name. It was most of the other Talking Beasts (like Pattertwig the squirrel and the Bulgy Bear) who didn't get named. *sigh*

Yes, and I know his name was mentioned because I've never read the book and when I heard it I thought, "Why does that name sound familiar?" Now I know it's because I saw this thread title on Hatrack before I saw the movie.

Reepicheep was my favorite part of that movie. Nailed his character I think. It was awesome.
