It's a rhetorical question. Really. I mean, how would any of you know?

I'll just try a process of elimination:
--I'm not a skilled & dedicated parent.
--I don't do much community service these days.
--I could probably be a bit more effective during my work hours (manifestly).
--Not an athlete.
--Not highly educated.
--Poor impulse control.
--I procrastinate.
--Poor diet and excessive caffeine and alcohol ingestion.
--Not a snappy dresser.
--I don't have...da social skills.
--Poorly travelled.
--Not an expert, nor an enthusiast.
--Short attention span.

...Having eliminated all those possible causes of my awesomeness, I've arrived at the following:
1. Good at multiple choice tests. (Oh yes, I'm good.)
2. I figure things out for myself.

So why are YOU so awesome?

I always get distracted with bubble type multiple choice tests, I always end up checking to see if my answers spell anything.

I hear you on figuring things out for myself, my first childhood phrase was often angrily said, "I do it!"

As for why I'm "awesome", that's a tough one to answer. . .

I fix things easily.
I have an indomitable will for completion of a task, even to the point of fixation. I'm not sure if that makes me awesome. . .

Every time I think of a strength I have, right along with it comes a fault, this sentence being an example of such. Never mind. . . *puts foot in mouth*

i am totally awesome
--im a genius

i think that says it all

*flys around in iron man suit*

I join in conversations with people I don't know. [Smile]

I'm awesome because not only does the voice in my head tell me I am, but my dog tells me too!

Posted by CaySedai (Member # 6459) on :

Well, I guess that means your dog is awesome. [Wink] (not commenting on the voice in your head because the voice in my head tells me not to.)

I'm awesome because I like to cook yummy things, and I sing nice, and I am good at taxes and classical mythology. I also know how to make those little tape loops to hold stuff up on the blackboard really fast, without losing my train of thought while I'm talking. I like to move furniture. I'm also cute. I could go on, but I think it's someone else's turn.

A strong sense of self-delusion.

Posted by Saephon (Member # 9623) on :

I am awesome because I'm learning to speak Japanese and am very serious about working in the video game industry. I can self-teach myself almost anything and do my own research. I also enjoy having long hair and taking care of it. And I am a young male who is actually very interested in politics [Smile]

Oh, and I have a mint condition First Edition Charizard card in my closet.

- not multilingual (at best bilingual)
- not a ladies man
- not a genius
- not good at math
- don't have any money
- not a hard worker "on the clock"
- don't read if I can get it on mp3
- tragically white
- look out of shape no matter how much I exercise
- still get the occasional pimple at 23
- bad back

Why am I awesome?

- Excellent interview skills- never turned down from anything involving an interview

- generous with friends and with my time, like my Dad

- Have such varied interests that I usually have some interest in virtually any conversation.

Yesterday I was visiting an old college friend, and while I was there, his two youngest kids (about 6 and 9 years old) were playing some of my educational games online with me.

When I said something to my friend about how I'd designed the games, his kids looked at me with eyes bugged out in astonishment.

"You made these games?"

"Yep."

"So, you're...like...famous, aren't you?"

I laughed, but no matter how much I tried to convince them that I was NOT famous, I could not dissuade them from their belief in my utter awesomeness.

It was really quite cute. [Smile]

-Wears red Chuck Taylors.
-Doesn't have an A+ certification.
-Actually enjoyed "Life of Brian"
-Ability to quickly type meaningless lists that will delay "real" work for a half an hour or so.
-Builds golf simulators for a living.
-Causes ships to change course when not wearing a shirt on the beach.
-Wants to move to Salt Lake and be hip.
-Has a car that sounds like a lawn mower.

Since none of those seem to have any bearing on my awesomeness, I am awesome because I:

-Know many of Eddie Izzard's monologues by heart.
-Still a Hatrack lurker 90% of the time after 3 years.

Heyy my grandparents are originally from Ogden, or at least one of them.

I'm sometimes short-tempered
I'm contemptuous of... some things
I can't drive a stick shift
I don't have a girl friend
I sometimes succumb to bouts of acne
I don't wash my hands "enough"
I don't own a pair of roller blades
I'm not a great cook
I'm rather reserved
I'm judgemental

But I suppose I am awesome because:
I am smart
I am compassionate and caring and patient if I actually care, and I've determined the situation worth caring about
I am passionate
I am articulate
I am rather athletic
I understand how good my life is
I have good friends
I have a caring family
I have goals, and ambition
I'm really nice, though selectively...

Awesome enough for me

I have unstoppable determination.
I'm good at math (though I suck at arithmetic).
I'm good at building things.
I have secret superpowers (derived from cat licks)((don't tell anyone)).
I have all the typical mom powers of being able to protect people from nightmares, banish existential anguish, and quell thunderstorms. =)

-im lazy
-if i decide someone is stupid then i don't hear a word they say or read a word they write
-i decide practically everyonr is stupid
-i hate work

I am awesome because

-I can comprehend anything taught to me in about 10 secounds, then promptly forget, till i need the information again.

Posted by Marek (Member # 5404) on :

-I don't have my degree, and am in fact no where close
-I only speak one language (guess which one)
-I lack most super powers
-I am slowly helping machines replace humans

I am however awesome because:

- I am a portable crib, just ask any of my nieces, nephews or either of my sons, all of whom have decided to sleep on me at times.
- I have actually figured out how to make money at a race track.
- I can tutor people in math classes I have never actually taken.
