Japanese only, but trailer-speak seems to be universal.

Bah, they already did a remake. It was called Star Wars.

The original Star Wars was swiped-er-"inspired" by the basic plot and characters of Hidden Fortress. But also by Flash Gordon, the cosmic comics of Jack Kirby, old movie SF serials, and many other sources Lucas drew on. It's more a mish-mash than true remake. [Smile]

Wow! The bad guy has a Darth Vader helmet!

I hope a subtitled version isn't too long in crossing the pond. This looks fun.

I was mostly joking [Wink]

The amount it took, and nigh directly, from the Hidden Fortress is pretty astonishing, though.

How so? Hollywood's been remaking Kurosawa films for aeons, though many of them were Westerns, not Space Opera.

Hey, it's true. [Big Grin]

(Minus all the death and moral ambiguity, of course.)

I think FB was more of an influence on Star Trek than Star Wars.

I always wondered how you say "In a world..." in Japanese.
