Nighthawk reminded me of something that I thought was wonderful. He stated in the discussion of “Meet the Spartans”

quote:
First posted by Nighthawk:
Although how many times do you see Michael Bay, Kevin Costner, Uwe Boll and the Zucker brothers in the same sentence, eh?

I heard this a few weeks ago on Yahtzee's Zero Punctuation review of Crysis(note: harsh language and absolutely not work friendly):

quote:
Taken from Yahtzee:
"I've played this on some brand new gaming PC resembling the monolith from 2001 constructed from magical obsidian by the proud dwarves of middle earth, and it still chugged when things got busy."

Something inside me giggles with glee when two completely unrelated things are combined into one thought or sentence, and it's takes a special mind to combine 2001: A Space Odyssey with the Lord of the Rings.

Another example is the recent xkcd comic, Pod Bay Doors

So Nighthawks' is a bad example, one that you hoped you'd never hear, while the two that I've found make just make me happy.

I can't think of anymore examples right now, I think I'm catching a cold and my mind is going.

Does anyone else have any?

Oops. I thought this was going to be a thread about Piers Anthony.

My English major is showing - I saw a thread about juxtaposition of the good and the bad by someone named The White Whale and had flashbacks to writing a paper on Moby Dick. *shudder*
