$200,000 to go to space in 2010.

I'm surprised they're getting it off the ground that fast, and $200,000 is a steal compared to what the Russians are charging. Besides, I've read that the $200,000 is slated to be cut almost in half after a year or two, and they plan weekly flights. I wouldn't be surprised to see that drop to the $50,000-$100,000 range by 2012. Hell, I might make it into space one day.

I'm wondering how fast they'll get SpaceShipThree up and running at this rate. I'd imagine it's a whole different level of difficulty to do an orbital flight, but I imagine people would pay more too.

They've already named the first two SpaceShipTwos. The first is the Enterprise, which I love and am extremely glad they did, and the second is the Spirit of Steve Fossett (changed from Voyager). There will be I think five or six of the ships total, the others aren't named yet. I just hope they don't sell the naming rights to corporations. No one wants to get into space on the Tampax Dream.

While the rest was interesting, this just made me laugh really hard. Thanks! [Big Grin]
