Just thought I'd lighten up the mood a bit with this colum by Joe Blundo which originally appeared in the November 16, 2004, Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch. The title is "Canada busy sending back Bush-dodgers."

quote:
The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration...

Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night.

''I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota...

Though this is the first time I've seen it, apparently this has been circulating around the internet for a few years. The original publication is no longer available online, It may have even been posted on Hatrack, but I have no way of finding out since Hatrack search doesn't seem to work for me. By the way, I had a hard time tracking down the original author of this piece, since it's so old, so thanks to this site Just thought I'd give credit where credit's due.

note: This is actually a repost from something I found on Nauvoo. I'm curious how many other Jatraquero/Nauvoodle cross-posters there are.

edit: to be a good Hatrack citizen

It is also a copyright violation (both of copyright law, and moreso of the policy the Cards have requested we follow re: copyright). I'd suggest editing that down to a small excerpt (2 or 3 lines), and linking to the rest.

Having been a longtime member of Hatrack, I am aware of the common practice of summarizing and then linking. However, I wasn't sure what to do when the original publication isn't available online, so I posted it here. I suppose it would be better to link to the blog where I saw this posted so that the onus is on the blog poster, so I will do so.

Wow, the posters at the bottom of the blog are pretty angry/defensive/serious for a what is obviously intended to be a funny bit of writing.
