Rumor has it that the climax to the second Narnia story has been punched up a little for the film version. Aslan will still awaken the Trees and free the River God, Peter and Miraz will still have a duel...but there will also be a full out assault on Miraz's castle by the Old Narnians, with Talking Mice being the key players.

Personally, I'd love to see that. Give Reepicheep a stronger role in this film, in preparation for his major character status in the next one.

Now those sound like reasonable changes, unlike the forthcoming action-adventure fantasy that will bear the same name as The Dark Is Rising.

I only read Prince Caspian once, I think. Though I know I read the whole series a couple of years ago. Maybe I skipped prince Caspian. I guess I'm not so much with the battle scenes.

I like those changes. I recently re-read Caspian and felt that the ending was very anti-climactic. Basically, we see stuff going wrong, more stuff goes wrong, then Peter and Aslan save the day for 20 pages...boy howdy. No wonder the BBC combined Caspian and Dawn Treader into one movie.

That's much more reasonable that many changes I've seen made to adaptations lately.

I approve with reservation.
