So, U2's Bono and Julie Taymor are apparently involved in a potential Spider-Man Broadway musical.

There's going to be a reading in July, casting for the roles of Peter Parker, Mary Jane, Arachne (?), Norman Osborn, J. Jonah Jameson, and a "Geek Chorus".

(Three teenage boys and one girl who obsess on the really cool old Spider-Man comics.)

There was an aborted attempt to make a Captain America musical back in the mid-80s. It was even advertised in Marvel Comics house ads!

It will be...interesting, to see how this project progresses. [Smile]

Yeah, I heard about this. I also saw an article saying that Sam Raimi has showed interest in directing The Hobbit. Which means Spiderman 4 might be in trouble.

Edit: Things aren't looking so great for Bilbo either.

Is Bono a Spidey fan? If so, it could be pretty good. If not - *shudder*

Which article was this? While New Line offered Raimi The Hobbit, he has made no public comment on the matter until very recently.

His statement was (paraphrased) "If Peter Jackson had no objection, and if I thought I could do a good job, then yeah...maybe."

He also has not yet committed to being involved in any post-Spidey 3 films in the first place, so really...nothing's changed.

Wow. This sounds like the musicals of Big and Carrie rolled up into one.

[Angst]
