Looks like the Louvre is going International chain store.

I like it on some levels, I despise it on others. I think the architectual plans are awesome.

Maybe they need a hip new logo too and they'll hire me. It can't be all bad news.

Something about this bothers me, I don't know what. Maybe my French traditionalist roots are in a fit. But on the outside, if the money can be used to help the museums in France, I don't have a problem with it. And I like that the museum was designed by a Frenchman.

I actually think it is a good thing. It is not like they are licensing it to Coke or something. They are working with another museum, not only lending their name...but their advice and expertise, as well as art loans. Spreading art and culture is a good thing in my opinion. Even better, in addition to the money going to France, the United Arab Emirates are paying to build a wing at the Louvre with international art. I think this is a good thing all around. Different cultures are getting the opportunity to learn from each other...and France gets more money to support the arts. In general, I am not a huge fan of the French government, but in this case I think they are doing the right thing.
