Ok, so my cell phone is incredibly stupid and also evidently incredibly rare. It's an LG CE500. I've had it for 8 months and the battery is completely dead. And no one has a battery for it. I could evidently go straight to LG and ask them for one, but honestly I don't like the phone enough to go through that much trouble. So I'm looking into getting an unlocked one off of Ebay. Does anyone have any advice for phones that have worked really well for them?
Price wise I'd like it to be under $100, though I'm wiling to go a bit over if its worth it (this is why I'm going through ebay and not Cingular. Virtually impossible to get a phone for under $200 without being due for an upgrade or whatever). I'd also like it to have Bluetooth, though that's not mandatory. I'd really like a speakerphone. That one is mandatory methinks. I don't care if its a flip phone or not, though I've always had flip phones and wouldn't mind a change (meaning I'd kind of like one that's not a flip phone). Umm ... I really just want one that's reliable and somewhat durable and has good battery life.

If you've always had flip phones, and you get one that isn't, be careful about sticking it in your pocket with other things. Even when they keys have been locked, my boyfriend still manages to call people unintentionally. As for specific phones, I have no real advice.

I swear by the Sony Ericksons. My wife has a flip one, with bluetooth, and even has memory for mp3s.

I just got my wifes Razr. I hate that I can not import Outlook to it.
Wife just got the Slvr. She likes it ok.

I like my Razr, has bluetooth and a solid speakerphone. It's a flipphone, so there's that, but the battery life on it is solid. I can go a couple days with average use and not have to recharge it. And I've dropped it on the pavement several times and it's still ticking.

Nah breyer, thats ok. I want a new one. I called Cingular today to try to get them to send me another phone, but I can't go through the warranty process unless I have my phone available, and the only phone I have to call with is my cell phone. They were quite insistent on this. Oh well. Its for the best. I didn't want to just get the same phone again anyways.
Is the SLVR L7 worth the upgrade from the L6? So far that seems to be the front runner, unless someone has some serious complaints about it.

I like it better, personally. I haven't done a side-by-side tech comparison, but the L7 definitely feels like a newer phone. The only noticeable difference I saw was that the L7 has an mp3 player; the L6 does not.
The only caveat: the mp3 player on it is iTunes, so if you don't like iTunes, flee.

The Razr is a piece of crap. I'm on my second one (my warranty replacement) and if I weren't so lazy, I'd be on my third. Cingular is going to have to send me a whole different kind of phone soon.
I love Samsung phones. They're incredibly durable, too.

Looks like I'm probably going with the SLVR L6. After reading a bunch of reviews on it, it looks like just what I want. A relatively simple, reliable, not-too-flashy, cheap phone. I can get it, plus a bunch of accessories, for just over $100, so I'm thinking it's a good to go. Though I will probably still get my current phone replaced.

Before it started having serious problems...maybe a month or two. I think it was at about two months that the thing started freezing on a regular basis...

Ok, now I'm torn. I really like the look of the Samsung E630, and its slightly cheaper. But it doesn't have Bluetooth. My phone right now doesn't have Bluetooth and I told myself the next phone that I got would, but I honestly don't know. Is it worth it? I don't use my phone all that much other than for simple talking and texting and the occasional picture. I've never felt really comfortable with handsfree devices anyways. The main reason I'd get Bluetooth would be for the data sharing capabilities, but honestly I don't know how that works. Anyone care to enlighten me?
Also, does anyone have any experience with slider phones? I've always thought they looked really neat, but I've never actually known anyone who had one.
Edit: Also, what's the deal with tri-band vs quad-band? I know theoretically, but not practically. If I got a tri-band, would I notice a real difference in reception or .... whatever?
