quote:

Here we stand today, on the eve of the millemium the forces of reaction have been destroyed, they're Alliance cast asunder and the Revolution that we had worked so hard for since October 1917 secured. All of the proletariat should be celebrating along with the soldiers and sailors of the Soviet Armed Forces and all allies of socialism everywhere, but this war came at great cost, we had hoped that the cooperation of the Great Patriotic War, and the good will established with detante to continue unhindered until unrestricted by either government or capitalists the people could be freed from their bonds. But alas this was not meant to be, I made the choice and I alone, it was either attack first or be attacked, the evidence of a surprise attack by the USA led NATO was incontrovertible and I had no choice, they would be ready to attack within 5 years while we could be ready in less then one. I felt we had no choice and now despite victory many have died, I take full responsibility but I take great comfort as I effective immediately submit my resignation infavor of democratic elections for a suitable replacement chosen by the People. The Revolution is secure and the need for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat can now be swept into the dustbin of history where it will now forever belong.

- General Secretary Bradenko of the SSSR and Generalissimo of the Comintern Liberation Army.

It's a little too dense, don't you think?

I mean, it would be less than two minutes as an actual speech, unless Bradenko is a student of the William Shatner school of locution. There are also a few sentences that seem a bit difficult to parse with standard English syntax rules.

I couldn't get past "the forces of reaction have been destroyed" -- no offense. It is just such a very poorly constructed beginning, that to read more might have made me cry.

Hm.

There was a funny line in a movie where one guy said something like "You're a fat drunk loser -- no offense."

And the other guy said "Gee, I was offended there for a second, until you said 'no offense'."

Bradenko needs a moustache.

the intent is to make a similar speech for an rpg Ièm making but without providing the nessasary background info (info that hasnt been fully fleshed out yet) the speech would not make sense so I made what the speech would look like say in 1989 the Soviet Union attacked and by 1999 won.

*entranced by the "World In Conflict" trailer*

If you intersperse a lot of ellipses in various places so that it seems more like a stitched together montage of a longer speech, it might work.
