We want to take movie data from a digital camcorder, edit it into clips that can be selected from a title/menu screen, and burn it to DVD. We've tried a couple of programs, but none of them work very well. Any suggestions?

No suggestions, but I would be very interested in hearing the answer! ^_^

A friend of mine uses Pinnacle for that. I haven't tried it, but have seen some of his finished work, and it looks very good.

On a somewhat related note, does anyone know any good software for capturing analog data? My parents have a media center XP computer and want to transfer some old tapes onto dvd's. In theory, I would have though that it would be somewhat simple considering that is what the computer was designed for, but it has turned out to be a big pain. Anyone have any suggestions?

You need a tv capture card, play a VCR tape like you would a tv station into the computer. Then you should just be able to use what ever software you want that records tv shows onto the computer. Burning the resulting file with any dvd burning software.
