Remember these ads?

Not remotely.

Yup!

But I don't think those comercials were particularly pophetic... I think they were things AT&T was planning to bring to market reasonably soon...

Yes and no. They were all in the pipeline. But some took 10 years to achieve a commercially marketable form (and a few never made it, unless YOUR atm sells concert tickets).

That, and they didn't forsee the demise of pay phones, obviously!

(I don't remember them either, seeing as I was 10 and allowed only minimal tv-watching at the time.)

rivka, ATMs don't sell concert tickets, but some theaters have machines that let you buy movie tickets with your ATM card without waiting in line.

I do remember those ads. Wow! We live in the future with all those cool futuristic things.

Jeepers!

*nod* Which is the sort of thing I mean -- not something that AT&T had in the pipeline, but similar enough to what they were predicting to be a tad psychic-like.

Is that Jenna Elfman "tucking her baby in from a payphone?" I'd swear it.

*laugh* I didn't even think of that. Good point!

It sure does look like her.

I was too fixated on the voice to notice. [Wink]

Wow. I don't remember those since I was only 7 and in England at the time, but that's pretty darn cool! We live in the future! (Well, not really, but you know what I mean.)

Does look like Jenna Elfman!!

And I remember the words more than the visuals...

Can't believe that was 1993...
