I was doing a research paper on Elizabeth Bishop, when I came to realize that it wasn't working. As is, I have to pick some other artist of the 40s-50s and discuss his or her impact on society.

Great. The only problem is that I can't think of anyone. I have to write a 5 page rough draft by Wendsday. I'd greatly appreciate some suggestions for people!

Thanks [Smile] .

Just off the top of my head:

Jack Kerouac
Allen Ginsberg
J. D. Salinger
Arthur Miller

And that's just writers.

Hope this helps. [Smile]

Duke Ellington and Miles Davis had a huge impact on the artistic history of those decades, and a report on either one of them would be legendary.

That's too bad. She's awesome.

Norman Rockwell - whenever I think of 1940s USA it is painted by Rockwell.

Jack Kerouac sounds like the winner ^^.

Oysh --> off to the library in ~ 2 hours to get the books and start writing! I can read all the books today, write 2.5 pages today and tomorrow and get the whole thing nicely done ^^. Now how to fit in my Biology examination in as well... [Wink]

Thanks all.

Oh, c'mon. Kerouac is so played out. Wouldn't you really rather do it on Ed Wood and be one of the cool kids?

Boy that could be a brilliant one. To a large extent, I think Rockwell captured an America that never was, and large swaths of society swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. We're still dealing with the repercussions of that.
