*spoilers from within the trailer*

The man who really kid Uncle Ben? Sounds pretty hokey to me. Doubt that was planned from the beginning... I'll need to rewatch the original to see if I can really by that.

*spoiler not in the trailer*

I was also hoping for at least a flash of Venom. You know, blink and you'll miss it...

I was watching "Shark" on CBS, and after the opening sequence the first commercial was, surprisingly, the full trailer for Spiderman 3.

I enjoyed the first two films--more than any other comicbook/superhero movies (except for "Superman Returns"). Despite that, I fear that this one might turn out to be a mess.

I mean, THREE villains? How are they going to possibly sustain that?

I think I might have spoilers here (I'm not sure as it's partly speculation), but yeah take caution before reading ahead:

So I've heard that a) Harry might go from a sort of enemy to a sort of assistant to Spider-Man helping him out (in fact when Spider-Man asks for help in the new trailer, he's standing on Harry's balcony), and b) that Venom's only going to play a minor role (this is less possible than the first since I haven't heard anything confirmed). So that means Sandman is the main villain with Venom being the 2nd one and Harry being a hero as well. Sort of diverges from the comics a little bit, but it could work.

*more speculation, spoilerish maybe*

Does this mean that Harry will be killed off? I mean, he's helping Spider-Man, and the idea of him being a villain again in the future sounds too cartoony for the films...

I can see Harry dieing in a noble fashion, having forgiven his friend Spiderman for killing his father and stealing the girl he liked...and afterwards Spiderman having the necessary anger to defeat the true baddie of the film, who ever that might be...

Or Harry becomes Venom. The psychosis/powers are in the suit/slime. So when PeterParker rejects becoming Venom...

I doubt they'd put Eddie Brock in the movie and not have him be Venom though.

My prediction, Venom is supposed to be played by Topher Grace (I don't remember his character's name). Spiderman will reject the symbiot suit near the end of the movie. Venom is only going to show up for a very small portion of the movie. He'll probably be the bad guy in the next spiderman flick. But I really don't think they're going to have time to focus on building as many characters as they have. I also don't understand the "Brock killed Uncle Ben" thing. Makes no sense.

Jimminy Crickets that was amazing. I wasn't even that thrilled about seeing this movie, and I don't know if it was the music, or the images, or what but I am PUMPED to see this now.

I like the in depth struggle that he's going to have to go through with Venom.

My only nitpicking, is that it seems like EVERYONE knows who Spiderman is, and that shouldn't be. Could make things interesting though.

And wait, I thought Brock WAS Venom, and the Sandman was a totally different character. So, the Sandman killed Ben, but Brock is still Venom, right?

And when are we going to see come crossovers darn it! I want to see Storm, Wolverine, and Spiderman ripping up the baddies!

Who knows who Spiderman is, besides MJ and Harry?

I don't think his aunt knows, I think she was just telling him to put his wife first because she knows how inconsistent Peter has been with work and school, and she worries he won't be able to devote enough time and attention to his wife.

Hmm. I might actually see that opening weekend. Next summer is looking like an awesome time for sequels. [Smile]

Interesting that Gwen Stacy was completely absent from trailer #2. I guess they're keeping most of her part under wraps.

Did he tell MJ that he was Spiderman in the Comic. I must have missed that one??? Looks like it should be pretty good though.

You missed a lot then. In the comics, MJ and Aunt May know he is Spider-Man. Also Peter and MJ have been married for a while.

EDIT: I believed Gwen knew as well before she was killed.

Now I just feel dumb but I stop reading Spiderman in 91 I think. Dig the movies though and this one looks awesome.

Ah, well you haven't missed too much of interest, other than the things I mentioned. There were a lot of stupid things (like Aunt May dying but coming back because the real Aunt May was in a tube and that was just a clonse), some sort of interesting but messed up stuff (Clone Saga anyone), as well as some decent stories here and there. The most notable thing in the last few years is the very recent unmasking of Spider-Man in public as part of the Civil War affecting almost all of Marvel's properties.
