I watched and loved the first three seasons of Alias and the first season of Lost.

I never got around to seeing more than a handful of episodes of either show since then.

Should I bother? Are seasons four and two worth watching?

Are either of these shows still on TV?

Lost is JUST about to start its 3rd season this month I believe!

You can get all of season 2 on DVD. With Lost I dont think the writers expected it to do as well as it did and they almost emptied all their ammunition on season 1. Because of this Season 2 starts off AMAZINGLY but there is definately a slowdown midway thats lasts about 2-4 episodes but it gets its momentum back and by the time you get to the finale of season 2 you are frothing for more. If Season 1 was 100% of what lost could be, season 2 is 90% almost all the time and 100% by the end of the season. I'd watch it in a heartbeat.

I don't think I am going to watch season 3 of lost on TV I just can't stand the commercial interruptions, it ruinst he beautful tension that Lost creates. Ill download the episodes as they become available and watch them on my computer, then buy the DVD's.

I would have bought season 2 today but my wife saw Smallville season 5 and begged me to get it for her, so much for this weeks budget for wants [Wink] now she has something to do whenever I go on a World of Warcraft raid [Big Grin]

Alias season 4 is good, but not as good as 1-3. I got through about 5 or 6 episodes of season 5 and gave up, and I almost never give up on tv shows.

Lost is great, if you like that type of show. Its like X-Files, 1 question gets answered 10 more get raised. Its like Gilligan's Island, in the fact that they are never going to get off the island as long as the show is on.

Honestly, Alias seasons 4 & 5 are much more uneven than the prior 3 (and really seasons 1&2 were the best, IMO). Though there are nuggets for both, and there is some great resolution for the character of Sloane in the series finale.

As has been mentioned before, Lost season 2 has some highs and lows, the highs mostly at the beginning and the end of the season. I think it is worth seeing the whole second season though.

I'm not all that in to Alias, but I'm a big fan of Lost.

Lost won't be starting until October because last season they had to fill in too many weeks with reruns. They aren't able to produce as many new shows as other series are.

I do get a bit frustrated with all the unanswered questions. The twists are great and I'm obsessed with the characters. I will watch faithfully this season, but I'm afraid that if they don't start filling in some of the holes they will lose a lot of their fanbase.

I watched all of the first season of Alias, and then on and off after that, but I never watched another episode after that thing (SPOILER)

where it all advanced a few years in the future and she woke up in Hong Kong, whatever the heck that was. That was way too out there for me(/SPOILER)

LOST however is great. Some parts of the second season got muddled, but it ended strong, and I'm looking forward to Season 3.

Alias is off the air, since no one explicitely answered that for you. I only watched the first three seasons and then the series finale, and I didn't feel like I missed out on anything. And I really haven't heard any one tell me that I've missed out on anything. So I wouldn't bother if I were you.

Lost on the other hand, I recommend getting caught up on. Season 2 was good, and while Season 3 may bomb, it also could be seriously awesome.

Lost Season two ended up for me being hit and miss. Changing Locke's character the way they did? Absolute miss. The mystery aspect of the show? Much better than season 1, IMO. Season two is worth watching, but don't judge it in respect to Season 1.
