That is why I have been absent lately.

A FL thunderstorm shorted out my cable modem, and now they are refusing to give me credit for the two weeks it took to get a new modem from them.

TWO WEEKS!

Jackasses.

See you when I can. [Big Grin]

Psh. At least you've had rain.

Edit: I just realized I haven't actually been at my house in Central Florida for over a week now, so it's quite possible I have nothing to complain about [Smile] . Sorry to hear about the modem though, that succoth.

Yeah...it has been raining here so much the overflow ponds are almost full again. And they were down to 3/4ths level before July. [Big Grin]

I love thunderstorms...just not when they fry my modem. [Frown]

Am I right in thinking you're in Tallahassee now, Strangelove? If so, you got out of the way just in time, it looks like.

Good luck keeping the new modem working, Kwea. What a week to get it. [Smile]

It took me a minute to figure out that you meant "sucketh", not "sukkot". *laughs at self*

Yeah, I just moved up here to go to FSU, from about an hour northeast of Orlando (DeLand area if you're interested). And kq, you're close. I got that from Genesis 33:17. I always chuckle at that verse. I just picture Jacob saying "Well this place sure succoth" [Razz] .

Yeah, that's another spelling of "sukkot". I was aware of that. [Smile] It occurs several more times, as well.

I'm familiar with the festival of Sukkot as well, and the meaning of the word, so I could not for the life of me figure out why you were saying that the modem was small temporary dwellings. [Laugh]

Oh, yeah, sorry, I thought you were just referring to the festival, me figuring that was more well known ... but I should've known. Anyways, yeah, sometimes I just say that for the fun of it, because around my usual company, no one has the slightest idea. Hatrack, on the other hand, is not my usual company, and for that I'm grateful [Smile]

Succoth is my new favorite word.

In other news, I would be livid about my internet dying for two weeks, and then not even getting any compensation. I really hope it's all better now so you can stick around, Kiwi!

I did get the job in Ocala, so I doubt I will reinstate my internet at this point. I will just have to make due with the library computers. [Big Grin]

My monitor died last night as well, so it is time ot shop for a new one...after I move.

Now the library computers hate Hatrack.

This sucks.

Oh no! [Frown] It's been pretty quiet around here, anyway. It's like we're waiting for you to get your own internet [Wink]
