Story

I think it was only a matter of time. I don't blame him for waiting though. Think of how many girls he would have devastated if he had done it while they were still on top. It would have caused mass chaos.

I saw this today. I also saw the articles speculating on it a week or so ago. I think it sucks that he was basically publicly outed, and I think that gay magazine that did it and criticized him severely mis-serves its cause.

It also, of course, sucks that people care so much what his sexuality is, and feel that its any of their business.

No one cared when Mike Myers came out, but when Lance Bass comes out everyone goes crazy.

Posted by Icarus (Member # 3162) on :

Mike Myers is gay?!

Posted by SoaPiNuReYe (Member # 9144) on :

Yeah, can you believe it?!

Posted by Icarus (Member # 3162) on :

I mean, um, yeah. Nobody seems to care that Jim Carrey is gay, either.

Are you sure you meant Mike Myers? I've never heard of him coming out.

Posted by SoaPiNuReYe (Member # 9144) on :

I've heard several times, from several different TV shows and Radio Stations that he's gay.

You know who is gay?

I know he had a wife for a long time. They got divorced, but I haven't heard anything about his personal life after that. I couldn't find an article or anything actually stating that he was gay.

Posted by Tante Shvester (Member # 8202) on :

Well, his marriage to Honey Roasted was a sham.

Posted by Tante Shvester (Member # 8202) on :

When they divorced, they were split peas.

Hes not gay hes just straight with an enormous ego...

Posted by JennaDean (Member # 8816) on :

Yeah ... not buying that Mike Myers business. The only source for that is this Perez Hilton idiot. Any other references to it are all coming from that one source.

Posted by SoaPiNuReYe (Member # 9144) on :

I think it is, it's been published in more than one magazine, and its not that hard of a stretch if you think of it...

My first reaction on the Lance Bass thing was... Lance who? Ohhh, that guy. Ehhh, big deal.

I mean, since whichever group he was with broke up, has he done anything to warrant the spotlight or our public curiosity? Could being outed be the new publicity ploy for forgotten celebrities?

Does it really even matter anymore what someone's sexual orientation is? It just doesn't have that old gossipy zip that it used to. No shock value, no big discussions. Of course, that's probably a good thing.

Well, Lance Bass has cetainly inspired me. Hatrack, I'm gay, and it's because fading celebrities like Lance Bass have the courage to make one last desperate attempt to seize the public eye that I also have the courage to admit to you that, yes, I like men.

Lance Bass was the one that wanted to pay $20Mil to Russia to go in to space. Maybe that just wasn't enough press for him?

What a shocker!

Lance Bass likes me? Yeah, that's a, that's a .. . that's kind of a "duh".

Uh, Joldo. . . .
Are you missing an "n" in that last sentence?

Like Regan's diagnosis of Alzheimer's this is news that seemed pretty obvious for nearly a decade before it was announced.

Haha.

And oh Lancey, we all knew it way back then.

ah, thats who that was. I saw him on the cover of a magazine at work, and figured he was in a boy band...but couldn't remember which one.

Do they still make any music...or did they split up? I guess by now they are all rich enough to retire.

Posted by Joldo (Member # 6991) on :

Yes, missing an N. Thank you muchly. Though it's still true if you read it as is.

Posted by Enigmatic (Member # 7785) on :

You know what's an even bigger shocker? Some gay dude recently admitted in public no less that he was a member of N'Sync! He's been totally ostracized by family and friends for that one.

Bean Counter made me really laugh out loud as I'm packing for a trip... Thanks for that!

Seriously the story would be a whole lot funnier if Lance was a Backstreet Boy.

Posted by TheTick (Member # 2883) on :

My father-in-law mixed up his news stories, and thought for the whole day yesterday that Lance Armstrong had come out of the closet.

Posted by Joldo (Member # 6991) on :

What, he hasn't? [Razz]

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

No, he was only packing a suitcase.

Posted by Joldo (Member # 6991) on :

Oh, makes more sense.

Posted by Joldo (Member # 6991) on :

So, on another note . . .

Any bets on when Anderson Cooper will "officially" come out of the closet?

Posted by neo-dragon (Member # 7168) on :

Where did Mike Myers being gay come from? I think you've been had, SoaPiNuReYe. I tried looking in to it, and all I see is that he divorced his wife of 12 years last December. I certainly don't see any mentions of him being gay.

Posted by SoaPiNuReYe (Member # 9144) on :

Dude, I'm not lying, I heard it from like 3 different places a couple months ago.

Posted by neo-dragon (Member # 7168) on :

I didn't say that I thought you were lying, I said I think you've been had. Surely if it's true there must be a source online somewhere.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Haven't you heard... Mike Myers controls the internet. Yeah, bay bee, yeah!

I kept remembering this and laughing all day yesterday and today. This is just so wonderful! Now I'm going around asking people "did you hear Lance Armstrong came out?"

If those sources are in the same category as The National Enquirer, I'd have my doubts. I think the Mike Myers story came from Paris Hilton, and we all know what a bastion of accurate information she is, eh?

But, if the Internet says it, it must be true. Right?

And Lance Armstrong did give up on Sheryl Crow...

Wait a second... Leave Anderson right out of this... : )

Although my reply to this brings 'him' back into it, but, I mean, it's Anderson. Does it even matter? He brings such a cool edge to the news...

ps - i couldn't care less about the potential social influence of his sexuality... i just like to think he's all MINE!!!!!! ; )
