I'm in the middle of my second-to-last chemo treatment and my body is saying "Enough!" Today I had a reaction to an anti-nausea that I've had every time with no problems until now. I got light-headed, my vision blurred, and then I developed a splitting headache. All are apparently rare side effects of the IV anti-nausea they give me, so there is now a note on my chart that I can't have it anymore. I had to sit in the office for an hour and a half until my vision cleared.

The good news is there are other anti-nausea options and it shouldn't affect the rest of my treatment. I'm just so ready to be done. The nurse told me that some people are like me, toward the end, they start having trouble with just about everything it's as if their bodies have thrown in the towel and surrendered.

On the bright side, I lost eight pounds. They were concerned about that until I told them I had started back my walking in order to get ready for my trip, so it was probably due to the exercise and not any problems. The nurse said as long as I was losing it on purpose, it was okay. [Smile] I felt good though, they came in and wanted to re-weigh me, thinking there was an error on the chart. [Razz] Nope, I really had lost eight pounds.

I read that you lost 8 pounds, and I was concerned...but then I saw that it was because you wanted to! Great! [Smile]

I was just wondering how you were doing last night, Belle--thanks for the update. I'm glad that there are alternatives to the medication that started giving you trouble, and that the weight loss was intentional.

Other than your body deciding that it was tired of drugs, how is the treatment going these days?
