I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Some songs are just awful, but they get stuck in your head, and you have to listen to them on repeat until your mind gets sick of them.

My current example: Nelly Furtado - "Promiscuous."

I hate this song. I hate it so, so much. Not only is it a crappy song, but I also hate what it's about. The only line I like is:

Whoever that guy is: I want you on my team.
Ms. I'm Like a Bird: So does everybody else.

What happened to you, Nelly Furtado? When did you turn into a ho?

She says it a song to 'celebrate the inner slut.'

I don't really care for it. But I love her. Musically she is usually quite amazing.

Pollen, by Mirah.

Well, I don't hate it. But after it's run through my head about a thousand times, I just want it out.

Hehehehe.

I have a horribly shameful love for the opening song from 'Enterprise', Faith of the Heart. When I first heard it, I hated it. The more I listen to it, the more I like it.

Uncle Cracker: Follow me
always got me because I thought the song was very well done and catchy, but what the song actually said offended me so much...

on the more conventional side of things:
most any random pop-song that I'll hear on the radio but have no respect for the band (i.e. Brittany Spears, N'Sync etc.)

in terms of rediculously awesome songs that get stuck in my head:
I dream of Genie theme (though it's actually my cure to get bad songs out of my head)
Smurfs theme
Fat Bottomed Girls
Anything from Les Mis

I'm not alone!!!!
[Party]
I'm even worse though - it gives me chills when I couple the theme with the visuals. [Blushing]

Maybe I should feel bad- I always liked Faith of the Heart- never felt bad about liking it either- yet everyone tells me that I shouldn't like it.

*must conform*

I second Honkey Tonk Badonkadonk and Promiscuous, and raise y'all Bossy.

Oh, so that's what this Promiscuous song is. They play it on a commercial
Can't say I like it. Unlike stupid television shows I seldom listen to songs I hate because they just annoy me.

I've gotta second the Since U Been Gone. Under the influence of that devilish tune I bought 300 bucks worth of REALLY old stuff on eBay.

My Humps, by Black Eyed Peas, is a really, really good song with utterly ridiculous lyrics. [Smile]

"Good is Good" - Sheryl Crow

quote:
And everytime you hear the rolling thunder
You turn around before the lightening strikes

Lightning, then thunder. Trust me on this one.

I can't believe no one has said Blue by Eiffel 65. That song gets stuck in my head and it takes days of careful song selection to get it out of my head again. I hate that song.

YES. It frustrates my pseudo-indie standards that I LOVE this song.

Arrrrgggghhhhh!

Thanks to you lot, I've now got an interesting medley going through my head combining the "I'ma git-git-git-git you drunk" part of My Humps with the "da-boo-dee-da-boo-die" part of Blue. *weep*

...hey, I like some of these songs. However much Stacy's Mom has been over sung and bashed it's such a wonderfully silly song. If you listen to the rest of Fountain's of Wayne's stuff they are quite clearly making fun of pop with that song. I'm rather fond of them and it.

And Blue, if it's the one I'm thinking of, isn't bad, sorta nostalgic.

*grumbles*

On the other hand... I hate My Humps.

"Henry the Octopus" The Wiggles (I'm not listening by choice.)

Alcon-
Don't get me wrong, I like the song-but I hate that I like it. It's got a catchy tune and hilarious lyrics. The music video is even better. I outta check out more of their stuff like you suggested.

I must agree with Bao Qing Tian (does your name mean "precious clear day?")

Stacy's Mom is a song I just can't stop listening to but I hate myself for listening to it sometimes.

My Humps is also notorious for doing this to me.

as for Honkey Tonk Badonkadonk, a group of me and my friends still refer to girls with hot butts as having a "badonkadonk." Say it out loud it just fits.

Hate To Say I Told You So by The Hives: I still dont know what that song is about, the words just make no sense, but I cannot escape its catchy guitar riff.
