My birthday is tomorrow, so my mom came tonight and watched (both!) the kids while we went to dinner and a movie (Keeping Up With the Steins; quite entertaining, but the best part was just being out.) (She also brought me a skirt and blouse. They're pretty, and I like them, but that's not why I'm so happy.) And when we came home, Emma was asleep in her bed (since 8:30!) and Bridget was just waking to eat again. Wow, was it nice to have grownup time!

Wow, Happy Birthday KQ! What a great present ... I don't remember ever being able to do dinner AND a movie while I had a baby so young. Fantastic!

It was. And our movie got out earlier than we thought, so we even got to go browse a bookstore afterward.
I can't pump, but luckily I have so much milk it's easy to get a couple of ounces after a bath or such by hand and freeze it, so Bridget was well-fed while I was gone. And my mom is the one person on Earth whom I absolutely trust to be able to handle the both of them for several hours at a time.

Oh, and I would like to point out that my husband has neglected to start me a birthday thread for the second year in a row. *glares menacingly*
Now, back to cake. *passes out cake*
