Interesting news on the use of water as a fuel.

The file is a .wmv movie...

Very exciting. I'm kinda thinking it might be too good to be true, but it looks legit.

Except "heart". What was that guy? What a sissy.

My car is powered by monkeys on treadmills who are being controlled by the Heart guy.

Ok yall, I got a business degree and don't remember much chemistry. Sarcasm aside, is this legit or a bunch of smoke and mirrors?

Whats the catch? The car requires 4 oz of water AND 1.21 Gigawatts?

Well, I wish it were on almost any other news channel than Fox. At any rate, I'm withholding enthusiasm until I hear about it from a couple more sources.

I want a Heart-powered car too.... it's the perfect energy source!

You know, my biggest beef with the Heart guy is that he's always the one who gets captured so that the other Planeteers can't just wuss out and summon Captain Planet to solve their problems for them.

It seems to me that the video is innacurate in saying that the car runs on water. As far as I can tell, it would pretty much be an electric car that uses HHO as an intermediate step between charging and running the car.

That said, this could have a lot of potential. For one thing, electric cars have some problems with range. In the video, he claims that a 100 mile trip uses about four ounces of water. If this is accurate, then this could be a serious boost to the viability of an electric car.

On top of that, the HHO could be generated while the car is not actually present and easily transfered to the car when you get back.

Overall, I am optimistic about this technology. It's too bad that there really wasn't much hard information about it in the actual video.

Everything I've been able to find on the Internet makes me think this is essentially bunk. Apparently there was a big craze some time ago about "Brown's Gas", which this seems to be nearly identical to.

In any case, basic laws of energy tell us that you can't make more energy than you start with, so it's not free. You have to use electricity to turn the water into hydrogen and oxygen, and you have to make that electricity somehow.

Alas, skepticism appears to win the day:
