Last weekend we went to Branson. The Moscow Circus was playing in Silver Dollar City, so we decided to take Sasha to see it.

The night we arrived we recieved some free tickets to an Elvis Impersonation Contest. So we went.

The two contestants this week were not too good. If you slapped sideburns on Samuel Jackson and Jackie Chan you might get a more Elvis looking person, and more Elvis sounding. Still these two had the costumes and the music so they, and the Elvis MC gave us a show.

During the intermission the younger Elvis strolled down the aisle. Sasha, in his 5 year old cuteness, tried to hide. Elvis came over, taking the bait. In his best Elvis voice, this young man in black leather pants, and black shirt half open came up to Sasha and smiled. "Why hello there little trooper."

Sasha looked around, embarrased, then looked up. "Mr?"

"Yes!" said the Elvis.

"You forgot to button your shirt." He then pointed to the unbuttoned top. Laughter broke out around us as the Elvis-Wannabe quickly found somewhere else to be.

Meanwhile nature called to me, so I headed for the mens room. This was in the oldest theater in Branson, so unlike the palatial accomidations of other shows, this restroom was a small room, fit for two.

I was one.

A fourth Elvis, older, fatter, and not performing this evening, was the other. He smiled as we stood next to each other, doing our business.

Now I'm not saying he was the real Elvis. Most likely he was a past winning Elvis there to scope out the cometition.

Still, I had to fight the urge to turn to him and say, "You're Elvis!"

If I would have, it would have ruined his pants.
