So, I'm in DC staying w/ a friend of mine and tonight she took me out to dinner at a wonderful Indian restaurant called Indique. I'm always overwhelmed by menu choices -- so much food, so little room -- but this was especially difficult.

And there on the menu I saw "Lamb Rogan Josh." I picked it purely because my dining partner had already ordered, the waiter was waiting, I couldn't decide--and Rogan Josh has a whimsical Hatrack association in my mind. It was yummy, but . . .

True confession: I probably would have liked one of the vegetarian entrees better. Something w/ chickpeas or a paneer dish -- but one must broaden one's horizons and it was fun to satisfy my curiosity about who/what the heck this Rogan Josh is!

So, what type of food was it? Now I'm curious!

Lamb (or other meat) cooked in a rich spicy sauce -- here's a recipe that looks pretty similar to what I had.

I loved the fresh coriander leaves on it. But hey, put cilantro on anything and I love it!
