Here is a readily digestible synopsis of a recent paper (linked in the story) that outlines a new theory regarding how the Big Bang might have come to pass. If it can be tested, it might bring us significantly closer to (1) a more comprehensive explanation of the Big Bang and surrounding time, and (2) a theory of gravity that doesn't break down at the quantum level.

Fascinating. [Smile]

[Smile] THANKS [Smile] I've got both bookmarked.
I've been wondering about the CauchyHorizon

Interesting, but I do not see them proposing any experimental tests. Probably outside our energy range, unfortunately. Still, it would be good if the theorists could work out some new math, we could be doing with being told where to look for New Physics.

Unfortunately as with most theories pertaining to quantum gravity, the experimental apparatus you would need would be bigger than our galaxy. Very difficult to prove.

Or you could use magnets powerful enough to move the Sun from its orbit, if you preferred. [Smile]
