Does anyone know how to make a subscripted character in katakana in MSWord? The word I'm trying to do is フアンタジー, except I want the second character to be subscripted so it reads as "fantajii" instead of "fuantajii".

Well I'm not sure about the box-box-box font as it's kind of hard to read.
EDIT: I hadn't restarted so my newly installed Japanese wudn't turneded on.
Doesn't the sound for "fa" have to use both the FU character and a small "ya" character?
EDIT: Are you trying to spell the japanese version of the english word "fantasy"?

I can see Reiko's Japanese characters just fine. Unfortunately, I have no recommendation about how to make the a character smaller in Word.
EDIT: Maybe you could just copy and paste from Wikipedia's Katakana site. Posted by ReikoDemosthenes (Member # 6218) on :
Yeah, I was trying to spell "fantasy" in Japanese. And, in retrospect of the blondeness of illness and stress, I realised that all I had to do was type "fa" and it would give me ファ... go figure. That certainly wasn't how our prof showed us, but whatever works.

Wouldn't fantasy be fah-n-ta-SHI instead of ji?

That's what I would have thought, but a dictionary I downloaded a little while ago said it was "jii" so I decided to go with that.

I can understand why you think it’s ファンタシー (or ファンタスィー) but I think ファンタジー is the standardized 書き方. [かきかた] Good observation
