Because now that I no longer have my temp job, which is my own fault I want to get the guts to talk to the people in Blue Card about getting the letter writing position I lost due to budget restraints back during November.
I miss that job.
I loved that job. It was so much easier than triage plus I got paid more. I hardly made any mistakes. Of 5,000 or more letters I only made about 2 or 3 mistakes, maybe 5 and they were mostly typos.
I was excellent at that job and could pump out 90 letters on my good days and about 60 on my bad days...
The people in that department like me. I'm just scared out of my brains to ask them about the possibility of at least getting that position back (hopefully permanently) in the near or distant future.
I just cannot take the stress of temp work much longer...
Plus, everyone has to do their own letters and mostly does about 2 or 3 a day which interfers with good customer service...

Good luck! I know that temp work is not usually very rewarding so I hope that you can get a more permanent position.

Yeah, all I have to do is just call these people and ask them if they'd consider hiring me in the future, or opening that position...
They like me, a lot
but it still scares me.

Synesthesia, I know it scares you, but if it helps, think of it this way... You'll likely never see them again if you don't call them, and if you call them and they don't have the budget to hire you, you still haven't lost anything, but if they have the budget and hire you, you've won.

The worst they can say is no. Honestly. They won't yell or scream or laugh at you or anything like that.

This is true... they do like me a lot and I'd miss them if I wasn't working there again... I already missed them when I had to be released and ended up in Quincy.
They seemed to miss me and were happy to have me back even if it was in another department.

Syn, pretend you are asking for a friend and not yourself. You know this friend was really good at the job, and that they liked her. You would probably find it really easy to ask them in that case.

Hope that helps! Good luck! You have nothing to lose, only to gain. Remember, you may be doing them a really big favor as well.

It might be counter-productive if you actually say "Would you hire my friend?" though.

Just mentioning. [Smile]

That went really well
The people there really seem to like me and want me back...
I'll have to see what happens.
If not now, than maybe in the summer...
I hope my comp can last that long.

Congratulations! I bet you're glad you took the plunge and asked!

Yeah. I'll stll have to see what happens, but at least I am staying on top of this job thing instead of just bailing out.
So I feel proud.
