My six yr old says he wants to be on this show after he gets his first job (he's been signed on with a talent agent, and plans on being famous)

I agree. I was very disappointed with Stacey tonight - she was so good for so long, and then just let it slide completely for the freestyle dance.
If it weren't for the freestyle though, I'm really not sure. None of them have really become anything like real ballroom dancers, though Stacey started out with a lot of the grace and flexibility required, but I haven't been impressed with style, posture and attitude in general throughout the season.
Wicked fun to watch though. I'll be sad that it's over.

Yes, I really didn't like her freestyle much either.
She has ad several years of danc lessons, which is one of the reasons that she started out so well, I think. It seems as though that would help.

I think Tante Shvester should win.

She's such a wonderfully stately character, sorta like a Greta Garbo or Katharine Hepburn in figure.

Tante Schvester is? I agree

You guys can suck up all you want. But I'M Tante's favorite.

Tante wins the thread. (And she hasn't even posted in it yet!)

I mean no offence to the shows fans but, why would you care? Its not like its going to effect your life. And its just another "reality" show. And all the stars end up doing is embarising themselves for very little money.

I embarrass myself for free.

Since I hardly ever watch TV, I was just going to ignore this thread. But then I decided to peek in, 'cause I hate missing anything. And here I am, plastered all over it.
<Twirls. Dips. Leaps. Waves arms in a silly but dramatic fashion. Sashays. Twirls a little more. Segues from the Macarena to the Cotton-Eyed Joe.>

AND...? Your point?
I can't help but wonder what on Earth compells you to try to start an argument about a thread about Dancing With the Stars. Does it fulfill some deep psychological need?

OOH... now there are two dances you never see on that show! Itd be cute, at least during the freestyle.
My son LOVES this show, and has started ballroom dance lessons (until we moved I need to find him a new teacher)... but I BET he'd get a kick out of the Macarena and Cotton-Eyed Joe, and the Electric Slide too.

See how her back moves up and down, sorta like an oil rig?

err... Very stately like Greta Garbo...

She has a very nice back.

You should get a load of my front. It's even better!

All three of my kids want to grow up and be famous enough to be on this show. I told them they should study dance then they can be the professional dance partners who get to be on more than one show We are leaning toward Drew and Cheryl here. I loved his Paso Doble.
Just a fun fact... my husband's cousin was the partner of Ashley DelGrosso back in Utah before he went on his mission. He is again dancing and teaching. It is fun to see Ashley on tv again but on a national level!

"He is again dancing and teaching."
The interesting thing about this performer is the very macho kind of preening quality he gives to this dance.

The bloated 2-hour finale extravaganza (there seems to be more of it lately) in reality tv is a bit much. I just want to see who wins and maybe some dancing.
The re-caps? The constant commericals? The confessionals? All I gotta say about that is it's too bad I don't have the Olympics to switch to anymore.
Posted by Dick Button (Member # 9197) on :
But that's nitpicking.
Posted by mimsies (Member # 7418) on :
Yes. They kept talking about announcing the winners soon...
If they'd spent the time with more dancing, it would have been better.
I also thought the elimination in the earlier part of the show was unnecessary. it took away from the suspense of who would win because you could figure out the reults after knowing who had been eliminated.
