Sooooo, I'm reading the latest Time, and I stumble accross a review for a new album called Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not by a band called the Arctic Monkeys. And it was glowing. Apparantly, there was a poll conducted in the UK, and listeners ranked it the 5th best British album. EVER.

Naturally, I'm interested.

I'm gonna download if from AllofMp3, but it's updating right now so i'll give you my personal opinion a little later. I suspect it won't be possible for me to dislike them, since track 5 is titled You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Looking Straight At Me. That just tickles me in a good way.

Anyone heard/heard of them before? What did you think?

Whoops, here's a link to the site that ran the poll.

And the band's homepage, for good measure.

If listeners didn't pretty much fill that poll with Beatle votes (which they didn't for at least #2,3 and 5), then that poll is ridiculous in my eyes. That said, I'll probably at least check Arctic Monkey out...cool titles. *searches library*

I'm no music expert...

But it's good. Very good.
