Cancelling Toy Story 3 was the first thing that Pixar's John Lasseter did as the new head of DisneyAnimation. Paraphrasing his words, there aren't gonna be any sequels to Pixar movies until after an excellent script makes it necessary to film one. There ain't never gonna be no "We've got a hot property. Let's hack out a script to take advantage of it's good reputation."

It's like Toy Story 2 only with Buzz in Woody's place.
Woody: "Oh no, guys, they kidnapped Buzz. Buzz came to rescue me, he's my friend and I have to return the favor."
Buzz: "Woe is me. I am not wanted, and I am broken and malfunctioning. Why would Andy love me?"
Woody: "Buzz, you're a toy, Andy loves you."
Buzz: "Woody, you are right, I value your friendship."
Woody: "I value your friendship, Buzz."
Buzz: "Are we going to break the sexual tension in this film?"
Woody: "No Buzz."
