I haven’t heard of her getting arrested either but in case anyone didn't notice, Cindy Sheehan is far from the emotionally damaged mother of a casualty in the war on terror looking to speak with the president. She hasn't been that since the far left got a hold of her.
She's an absolute radical. She refers to the people who killed her son as freedom fighters; and she's recently had a poignant photo op with the anti-American dictator of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez. The woman is the enemy of the freedoms we're fighting to preserve. The fact that she lost her son is tragic, and I had a lot of sympathy for her before she turned to the dark side, but now she's nothing more than the puppet of the far left. She was arrested for protesting, I think. At least, that's what I assumed.

Well, I found a quick Reuters story without much detail, just said she was invited to the State of the Union address by a senator, she wore something with an anti-war protest and didn't uncover it until she was at her seat. The police told her such displays weren't allowed, and when she was arrested on a misdemeanor.
As for how I feel about it - she has every right to protest the war and the president, but there are appropriate times and places and this wasn't one of them. She was removed when she refused to cooperate with police, and if there are indeed rules about what can be worn and such (which I'm sure there are) and she refused to abide by the rules she shouldn't be surprised that she was escorted out.

It has happened before. I'll never forget that pernicious little smile she had when she was being carried away from the White House for protesting without a permit or something. It jus seemed so wrong
I can't find anything on the news; it's all state of the union.

Despite my support of free speech and the right to protest. What she did was inappropriate.
Being invited to the Address might have just been an administration attempt to appease her, but it also might have been a peace offering. Regardless, it's a formal event, and it's a STATE function. Wearing a shirt that reads like a rally sign just isn't appropriate, I don't care what it says.

I agree with Lyrhawn. It's one thing to protest outside in a public place. But when attending the State of the Union, one needs to be respectful. You can show support my clapping or not clapping, standing up or not standing up. I don't think it's appropriate to make that kind of political statement at the State of the Union.
