In the "should prostitution be legal?" thread, he said I should be ashamed of my political beliefs and that they were crap.
Instead of hashing it out thre I'll do it here.
I'm a Marxist-Leninist with Mao Zedong Thought; I believe that Captialism is full of inherant contraditions and will eventually fall and be replaced by a Workers Utopia shared by All, Leninist to the degree hat I doubt that it can happen spontaniously and agree that it takes a Unified Communist Party to lead the Workers and Farmers to Revolution. Maoist that I believe that it doesn't have to depend on the cities for it to work but that it can be the farmers and small town workers who can be the vanguard for the Revolution.
Now let us here YOUR excuse why you think what I believe is crap, I could say that Christianity is equally crap due that a leap of faith is ultimately required but I don't I'll argue on scientific grounds but will concede that you can't proove or disproove God with our current tools. But I don't tell someone that they're beliefs are crap except with racists, but my beliefs are far from Racists and so does not warrant being called crap.
Lets hear your excuse.

Why is it OK to call beliefs concerning race crap, but not any other beliefs?

Dude! You do not want to be a Maoist. Seriously. Mao was morally reprehensible. He was a terrible person who only cared for himself and his own self angrandizedment (sp)
I'm reading a biography about him, so I know.
I do agree with some aspects of socialism. They have been useful during the Industrial revolution and for getting 8 hour days and better work conditions, but I despise Lenin and Stalin and Mao especially. Mao had MILLIONS of people killed. He didn't care of they were rich land owners, peasants or anything. If they stood in his way, he had them tortured and executed. I don't believe that capitalism is completely evil, but laise-faire capitalism, unfettered uncontrolled capitalism is an evil thing.....

Ok, I went back and read the thread in question. Most times I don't agree with Irami, but I'd have to say you asked for it. In a big way.
Attention grabbing doesn't fly very well here at Hatrack... and I'd suggest writing a will if you try it at Ornery.

Yes. it is. It is an extremely good book. I think it's well written too, but it's SHOCKING. I can't believe what an awful person he was on every level...

He thinks that everything boils down to economics. I think that's stupid. Decisions are made- and rightfully made- for a myriad of reasons, some of which aren't even remotely tied to economics and have everything to do with a sense of public self-respect, dignity, love, curiosity or caprice. For example, there is no economic reason why he started this thread. But yet, here it is. I'm nice enough. I just don't suffer foolish theories gladly. And since his is a popular foolish theory, shared by capitalists and marxists alike, I took a stand.
