While I liked it, the continual inclusion of little Boots in these stories is seeming increasingly contrived.

Yeah, yeah...the prophecies always mentions her for some reason. And "The Roaches won't agree to go without her!"

But she's so obviously there for the sole purpose to be "potential victim/angst generator" in book 3 that it kept bringing me right out of the story.

Suspending disbelief over her continued survival is getting difficult.
