Not that I dislike romantic music in spanish, but it's just not what I generally listen to given a choice.
Now 104.9 is "La Romantica" and the station I listened to most is gone.
The worst part of it is, all the other stations I listen to have morning talk shows. I don't particularly like talk shows, I want to hear *music*.
I'm reduced to listening to KOIT in the morning which is fine but there's only so much KOIT I can take.
I don't suppose anyone in the Bay Area has a station that's like "Alice" or 105.3 or like 104.9 used to be that doesn't have obnoxious talkers in the morning and just plays music?

Join the club. We used to have 99.1 WHFS, one of the most recognizable alternative rock stations in the country. Ratings started to slide, and BAM! it's a spanish music station...

THT: That's not good. 104.9 was alternitive. I wonder if the genre is fading away...

Was it a Clear Channel station? The local Clear Channel "alternative" station here in town turned into an oldies station overnight.

But "oldies" can be good too, to an extent. Most of the alternative stations in the St. Louis area are still intact, I believe.

I hear we (the Detroit area) have one of the only good alternative rock stations left. And it's broadcasted out of Ontario.

I'm loving the Pandora.com radio! All Tante Shvester, all the time! I've even got a "Dueling Banjos Station" that plays nothing but quick-pickin' banjo music forever!
When I bought a used car, I knew very little about the prior owner except that he had every radio preset tuned to a Spanish station. And that he kept spare condoms in the spare tire well.
