Check this out, and please, check out the flexible spelling that occurs on a regular basis in Sri Lanka.

It gets worse.

Oh, and check out their home page, too. I didn't link to it because I figured I'd probably be offered in a ritual sacrifice if I did. The music is horrid. *shudder* And what little I saw of the site (I hesitate to see more of it than I have to) is all in flash. *shudders* *pukes*

And somehow, somehow, they think that we ought to be convinced from that horrible little website to use their services? [Evil Laugh]

So*. What terrible websites have you encountered lately?

in Sanskrit, Tamil, Hindi, and Urdu, their spelling is perfect.

It's times like these when I wish I remembered the URL for the single ugliest website on the entire Internet. Seriously. I doubt you could find anything uglier.

All I remember is that it was for a company that designed and printed signs, decals for cars, and flyers. Oh, and that there were moving frog gifs involved. And I think the color scheme was eggplant and bright orange and dizzying.

LOL....I wouldn't bet on that, but even if it was I wouldn't know. [Evil]

Funny thing is... Despite them having Sinhalese in their intro (I didn't notice Tamil, by the way), I saw no way to switch to other languages.

Hindi and Urdu I didn't see at all, nor would I expect to, given that they're not common here. Hmm, is OSC smokin' something? [Razz]

It's cool to see the current time in microseconds. Too bad their clock is off by 8 minutes.

Ah, I didn't know that posted. My browser's been acting up. Bad browser!

Huh. First time I saw your post, it said 15 minutes, now it says 8. But for me, it shows the correct time.

Skillery, are you having problems? I see your posts appear and disappear and change and...

I love "Cutome Web Applications". [ROFL]

Sorry, I must have meant milliseconds.

I've got two atomic clocks hanging above my monitor that I use for sniping eBay auctions at the last possible moment. Hope none of my Sri Lankan friends are bidding against me.

Oh crap, that's my computer's clock.

I really am having problems.

Ah, well, milliseconds... Those I wouldn't have noticed. [Smile]

I'm not surprised. In my experience (back in my editing days) printers subscribe to the "put it all in" school of design in general. Quotation marks? Put 'em around every other word. Italics? Underline? Boldface? Use 'em all! Clipart? There's never enough! Only one typeface?!?! No way!!!

The website is pretty benign considering it has no active links, noewhere to escape to and no information on how to engage their "diverse" services.

Hmmm.... a black hole in cyberspace, where no surfer can escape

ps. can anyone figure out ANYTHING about what this company actually does? I don't get it so far

edit: This is a very internetish phenomenon, but what is it about companies that get away with saying: "our job is to provide service"

Its like when someone asks you what your job is and you say: "I work for a living, thats my job!"

Fascinating stuff that.

They serve the public. Coated in a lovely crumb crust and fried until crisp and golden.
