And it's driving me nuts!

It's in FireFox, Internet Explorer, and some other places that I don't recall off the bat. Oh, the title bar in Blog.

I hate it. [Frown] It happened two or three days ago after I rebooted my computer. Subsequent reboots have not switched it back.

What did I do then? Hmm. I updated my FireFox extensions. I suppose I should check on the FireFox forums and see if that's reported as a bug for those. Or I could just uninstall and reinstall them all. *bleck*

Any other suggestions?

Go to display properties, appearance and advanced. Select the parts of your OS that are in italics and check to see if the font is set for italics. Note the little bold and italics buttons on the bottom right.

Hope this little bit of advice does the trick cause it's all I can think of at 5:30 am [Smile]

Nope. I tried that already, and then again for good luck, and nary a one was italics.

I've also used a program called FontExpert 2005 that checks fonts to see if they're corrupted. That came up negative.

I've also gone to about:config in my browser, filtered on font, and reset any (one) that was bolded.

I've checked forums, and it seems that there are only two possible solutions in front of me. One is to replace fonts in the theory that they're corrupted (how well does FontExpert work in checking for corrupted fonts? I have no idea...) or ditch my FireFox profile for a new one and hope that fixes it.

Problem almost solved. Turns out it was a corrupted font - Arial. Now I need to find and download one. Or someone could email me theirs? Fahim's already gone to bed...

The Microsoft Web font pack (available for download from their support site) has Arial in it.

Well now, that's just too easy, isn't it? [Smile] Thanks, Tom.

Um, it's not actually there anymore. Hasn't been since 2002 from the information I ran across.

On the other hand, I was able to find them at SourceForge, so it's all good.

It's installed, and thinks look... different. Probably normal, but after three or four days of all italics all the time, I don't know if I'd recognize normal anymore. [Razz]
