Hello,

I came across Mr.Card's site here after doing a search on him. I have resently read Enders Game, and was interested in seeing the rest of his work.

To my suprise I found that he had a forum also with many folks posting here, so I thought I'd post also and say hello to everyone...

A bit about me, I live in Michigan, work in Ohio, yeah I know rotten game, love to hunt, fish and read.

Anyhow if you've read this far let me know a bit about yourself also.

Thanks for reading

Mark

Welcome to hatrack, mate!

If you go into "OSC Library you can read the first chapters of pretty much all his fiction, as well as about 6 of his short stories start to finish. And may I suggest you get a subscription to Orson Scott Cards Intergalactic Medicine Show. What it is is self explanatory if you go to it, which you probablya lready have.

Welcome to Hatrack, Walker! And don't worry about the getting-to-know-us part, you'll manage to do that better by sticking around and reading the threads than by the few descriptions that you're likely to get in here. [Smile] Oh, and there's always the landmark threads - boy, this reminds me: I haven't read any of the archived ones in MONTHS! o_O

It would appear to me that he has been scared away.

But I'll do this anyway:

Welcome to Hatrack. From your name, I have assumed that you either your last name is Walker or you have read The Long Walk by Stephen King. Or you are named after some tv show character. Which one might be right, if any?

No my last name really is Walker...lol I only wish I could look as good as the guy on TV, or that I made that kind of money, it would sure make my life more exciting.

No I havn't read much Steven King, to be honest, although I do admit that I read the two towers... [Big Grin]

And no I havn't been scared away, this seems like a friendly place! Thank you all for the warm welcome. [Smile]

You ought to read The Long Walk. It is actually by Stephen King's alter ego Richard Bachman. That means it is a very different type of book. But its still really good.

Where in Michigan are you from? We have a couple Michiganders here that surf the forums.

I'm from the Farmington area, but I'm guessing your closer to the state line?

I would Aim, (I'm guessing that is AOL) but I have the Yahoo one, I just don't like to put to many of those chat programs on my computer, I guess for a few reasons...

1. I have no idea what I'm doing
2. If I do have them I would start talking on them all day...lol

But I'll look it up and see how hard it is to download...

I don't want more chat programs than I have, either. I have Yahoo because it came with the browser we were using. But I won't get another.

I do enjoy chatting, though. [Smile]
