I used to work with a guy named Wesley (but everyone just called him Wes). I would often say "As you wish" when he asked for stuff, but I don't think he ever got the joke.

I think it's rhymes.
quote:Inigo Montoya: That Vizzini, he can *fuss*. Fezzik: Fuss, fuss... I think he like to scream at *us*. Inigo Montoya: Probably he means no *harm*. Fezzik: He's really very short on *charm*. Inigo Montoya: You have a great gift for rhyme. Fezzik: Yes, yes, some of the time. Vizzini: Enough of that. Inigo Montoya: Fezzik, are there rocks ahead? Fezzik: If there are, we all be dead. Vizzini: No more rhymes now, I mean it. Fezzik: Anybody want a peanut? Vizzini: DYEEAAHHHHHH.

It is, in fact, rhymes.
That said, I heartily approve of this thread.

Freaks.
On another note, did we ever reach a general concensus as to where Tante's quote comes from? I've found it in Catch-22 . . .

When grading papers this last time, I came across one kid who is either a whiz with a thesaurus or just has the biggest frakking vocabulary I've ever seen/read.
Unfortunately for him, I had to use a quote in my comments:
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

in Catch-22??? Hmmm, maybe I should try slogging through that again. Still haven't managed to finish that book.
