OK here's the problem. For some reason a site I really need to log into changed my password, and the only way find out the new password is by answering a security question I put in years ago. The question is "why?", and I don't remember what the answer is but I have a feeling it might by a geek reference of some sort.
This is a longshot, but any ideas? I've tried variants of "because", "why not" and "42".

No luck so far, I'm blocked from trying for another 12 hours.

Why?
Why do I have to do this, anyhow?
Don't they have a way for you to call and give additional account details?

My question is, why on earth did you pick that for your security question? Sheesh, this is why you pick one you'll remember. Like, "What was the name of the first cat I had that was hit by a car?" Or "What color was my first bike?"
Now, onto the question. What about repeating "why?" Or "What?" Or "Why do you ask?" Or "Don't you wish you knew."
Short of that, yeah, shouldn't you be able to call or e-mail and get in? Or just start a new account, and then post a message saying who you are.

Shoulda done what I did...
same answer all the time.. different questions.. the two rarely make sense together.

My "hint" question: "What is your favorite soup?"
Now I'm OK as long as I don't find some new tasty soup to supplant my current favorite.

Heh, I suspect it was an easy question six years ago. My set of in-jokes have changed since then. "zee" and "why" were good ideas, but no luck.
Oh well, it's a good question to ask yourself every day, even if the only answer you ever get is "For your protection, your account has been temporarily disabled. Please try again later."
