This is for those of us who have been abused by DC Comics since Brad Meltzer's "Identity Crisis", earlier this year, and continuing through the current "Infinity Crisis" and the horrors of OYL and 52 that we have coming.

Not to say that I'm not happy to see some of the garbage of the last 20 years get swept away, but killing Shazam? Bringing back Earth-Prime Superboy, Earth-2 Kal-L and Lois, and Earth-3 Alexander Luthor, Jr.? No more JLA? Donna Troy as the new Harbinger? Luthor vs. Luthor?

My name is Lisa, and I'm a DC addict.

Um...not to seem like the spelling Nazi, but it's Infinite Crisis.

But, besides that...yeah, they're doing some really odd stuff...but they're doing it so well. Greg Rucka, Geoff Johns, Jeph Loeb; all awesome writers, and I think this is gonna be really good.

If it's any consolation, DC continuity has pretty much always sucked. So it's not really that much of a problem. [Smile]

I have the first issue of Infinite Crisis waiting to be read. Just haven't gotten to it yet. It sounds interesting though.

Marvel's continuity is getting worse though, while DC is trying to pull it together. *coughWhoresofMcough*

pfresh, read the last issue of Crisis on Infinite Earths first.

And Human, thanks. Infinite Crisis.

I remember the days of the annual JLA-JSA crisis stories with great affection. Now the word gives me hives.

FWIW, I think Diana acted properly. Max needed to be dead, and I'm glad she did it.

I don't have any issues of Crisis on Infinite Earths unfortunately. I wish I did.

You can download it.

Or... let me just mention one thing at the end. I don't know how familiar you are with the multiverse-that-was. Anyway, Kal-L (the Earth-2 Kal-El) was married to the Lois Lane of his Earth. But Earth-2 was destroyed in the Crisis.

Earth-3... the analogs of the JLA were criminals there. The only superhero was Lex Luthor, who was married to that world's Lois Lane. Just before Earth-3 was obliterated, Lex sent his son, Alexander Jr. away. He went through some anti-matter cloud and wound up with interdimensional powers.

Lastly, there was a thing called Earth-Prime. Earth-Prime was the name for... well, ostensibly our Earth. No superheros at all. There were actually some stories where Flash visited the DC Comics offices, and where Cary Bates and Elliot S! Maggin visited Earths 1 and 2. Anyway, just before the Crisis, they got their first superhero. Superboy. But Earth-Prime was wiped out in the Crisis as well.

At the end of Crisis, Alexander Luthor retrieved the Earth-2 Lois Lane, and transported her and Earth-2's Superman, and Earth-Prime's Superboy and himself... elsewhere. And to the best of my knowledge, they haven't been seen or heard of for the past 20 years.

That's sort of crazy. I'm looking into the download you mentioned now.

On another tangent, in an issue of Wizard (I think last month's) there was an image. It's either from Infinite Crisis or 52* (or whatever that's called). It showed Superman, Batman (with 2 swords), and Wonder Woman surrounded by multiple Doomsdays. It looked quite crazy. I think it's from Infinite Crisis (since the background colors and the positioning of the heroes is quite similar to one of the Infinite Crisis covers), but it was attached to a story about 52*. Any ideas what's going on there?

<sigh> Who knows if that's even the same Batman.

The idea, so far as I understand it, is that after IC7, every single book in the DC universe is going to skip forward to a full year after the Crisis. OYL is One Year Later. This 52* book is going to be a weekly, in "real time" (a la 24), which will show what happened in the skipped year.

If you can't find the 1985 Crisis series, I can send you a copy. Let me know.

I found a copy (about 60% done downloading it at the moment). I'll read it when I get the chances. Thanks for the info about the OYL and 52* stuff. I had heard vague mentions of it before, but you clarified good for me.
