Series!!!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!

WOOHOO!!!!

I'm a third generation White Sox fan. My parents grew up in Bridgeport; one of my great-aunts still lives there, just a few blocks from the park. They spent lots of time at Comisky when they were younger. [Smile] I haven't been to a game in a while (also, both my sisters married Cubs fans [Grumble] ) but I'm thrilled to see the Sox doing so well.

GO CUBS!!!

... oh, nevermind.

Fox in sox on rocks in box?

Lifelong redsox fan here. I can say one thing, mainly that I am not all that upset. I'd really like to see the whitesox win it all. It was such a good feeling last year so I hope other die hards can experience that. Maybe next year the cubbies will do it [Smile]

God. If the Sox beat the Yankees, I'm going to buy a round for everyone within a hundred yards of me at that moment.

Posted by Heffaji (Member # 3669) on :

Nah, if by some chance the Sox take it all, we can't have the Cubs getting it the next year. We need plenty of time to lord it over the North Siders for years to come.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Exactly.

Yankees need to go DOWN!!! [Smile]

Posted by plaid (Member # 2393) on :

Dang. No Red Sox-Yankees division series now [Frown]

...of course, the Yankees are down 1-2, so there's a chance they won't get to the division series either now... but, the Angels? I mean, does anyone outside of LA actually CARE about the Angels one way or the other?

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Yankees are DOWN? Wouldn't that make me happy if the WSox didn't even have to deal with them? [Smile]

Posted by TomDavidson (Member # 124) on :

No one cares about the Angels. That's not the point. The point is that the Sox must win.

Posted by Tinros (Member # 8328) on :

Go BUCKS! Wait, that's football. Sorry, got ahead of myself looking forward to the Michigan game.

Posted by Heffaji (Member # 3669) on :

I want the Yankees to make the next round. Easier team to beat then the Angels.

Posted by plaid (Member # 2393) on :

See, I'd rather have an interesting series in which my team loses, than an easy series in which my team wins. The Yankees in a series are just way more interesting than most other teams... and if your team beats the Yankees, it's just that much more satisfying.

Look at the Red Sox. They lost this year's first round 0-3. But I haven't heard any screaming or wailing from the Red Sox fans here on the forum, and I'm guessing it's because they've still got that warm fuzzy glow of contentment of having come back from 0-3 against the Yankees last year to win, and then go on to take the World Series.

So, yeah, it'd be nice to see the White Sox get to the Series, and even win... but if they can have a great, close series with the Yankees first, well, then you'll get to tap into that warm, fuzzy feeling for YEARS. Mmmm.

I must be a terrible fan plaid. I love it when it's quick and easy. [Big Grin] But I have to admit that it's more fun when it's close.

Darn those Yankees!

I think you'll hear more screaming and wailing from us Red Sox fans if the Yankees make it to the world series [Mad] . Of course we would have liked to win, but I think we all kind of understand that this wasn't our year. We just didn't have the bullpen this year, but I'm sure that will change next year. GO RED SOX!

Bye bye Yankees! [Evil]

Ahh, after the first round I can now sit back an actually enjoy the rest of the play-offs.

So long Yanks and BoSox.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

[Blushing] That's assuming that your opinion of my cuteness was revised in a good way. [Big Grin]

Posted by plaid (Member # 2393) on :

Nope. Goin' down. DOWN!! [No No]

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

:cries: Aw, just cause of my evil grin?

Posted by plaid (Member # 2393) on :

Yep. Evil is NEVER cute.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Well, I'm about to get a whole lot LESS cute. [Wink]

Darn those Angels!! I need a whole set of voodoo dolls in Angels uniforms. [Mad]

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Sox up in the series 3-1

Astros up 2-1.

Who would we rather see the Sox play in the series, huh? [Big Grin]

(And don't even TALK to me about that bad call. It happens. People need to move on. I'm sure they're willing to play an extra inning or game to prove to the world that they can with this series without help from the umps.)

Don't start thinking ahead. This is Chicago. We can't do anything that could possibly be a jinx.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

You're right. One day at a time. [Smile]

Posted by Goody Scrivener (Member # 6742) on :

WHITE SOX WIN!!!! WHITE SOX WIN!!!!! WE'RE IN THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

WAAAAAHOOOOOOOOO!!!! [Big Grin]

Posted by plaid (Member # 2393) on :

Congrats! [Smile]

I still think the Yankees would've made for a more fun match-up against the White Sox... but glad the Angels didn't win, and, yeah, it's nice to see Chicago get to the World Series.

Posted by Heffaji (Member # 3669) on :

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Posted by Vadon (Member # 4561) on :

Woah, sweet. And I must admit, I'm a wee bit glad Yankees weren't in, even if I like Randy Johnson pitching.

Erm, actually I just wanted to argue something.

What do you mean evil can't be cute? http://www.brandsonsale.com/dis-1709.html

I must find tickets to some of these games. I will kill. Literally. I will kill to get tickets.

Now to go instruct everybody I know to be ready on Tuesday to try and get a few.

Posted by Goody Scrivener (Member # 6742) on :

Tickets go on sale Tuesday at noon through Ticketmaster only. 120 for bleachers, 185 for lower deck reserved. Limit 4 per person for only one game total. I can't afford it, but I sure wouldn't refuse if someone offered one to me... LOL

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

So where in the heck is the series this year? I haven't even looked.

Posted by Goody Scrivener (Member # 6742) on :

Chicago (COMISKEY!!! whoda thunk???) for games 1 (Saturday) and 2 (Sunday), either St. Louis or Houston for games 3-5, and back to Chicago for 6 and 7.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

So they do play the series in the towns of the actual teams? Why was it in my head that they have the location for the World Series planned way in advance like the SuperBowl? Huh.

Well cool! I'm so glad for Chicago! Wish I could be there.
