At least that is what it sounds like. Every 1-3 minutes it makes this horrible churning sound 1-3 times. [Frown]

hmmm 10 minutes left before everything is backed up on my external drive.

Sounds like it's turned itself into a floppy disk. Congratulations.

Yowch! At least it gave you some warning, though.

Yeah, but definitely one of those old 5 inch ones. The ones that truly were floppy.

I fried my other Hard Drive drive. I think if I get a side of bread and a diet pepsi, I will not have to cook a late dinner tonight!

The problem, I am sure, is that my last drive died. I put in in right next to my new drive, and I think it overheated. I never took it out, and so I think this one overheated too. I will get a 300GB drive, and only have one. I will also get a HardDrive cooler...which might be better then a diet pepsi!!

If you've only got one hard drive, you probably won't need a cooler. I'd try to find a comparison of the load temperatures of different drives. I have a Samsung Spinpoint SATA drive, and it's very cool and quiet.

You know, I'm running out of butter. I could use some if you want to churn me up some.
